Highlights of the Itinerary
The Lycian Way explores the coastal region between Fethiye and Antalya, making it one of the world’s best long-distance hiking trails. This hiking tour will explore the best walks of the Western section from Fethiye to Kas, highlighting a unique combination of ancient cities, rural Turkey and Turkish culture, Mediterranean views, ghost towns, and mountainous hinterland.

What to Expect
Lycian Way offers us a wonderful mixture of Nature, Mediterranean Sea and Lycian History. We enjoy the wonderful Turquoise color of sea and we listen to the birds in the heart of nature during the day in our walk.
Day 1 Arrival to Dalaman
Arrive at Dalaman Airport, followed by a private transfer to our hotels in Faralya /Ölüdeniz / Fethiye for dinner, introductions, and an overnight stay.
Day 2 Fethiye -Kayaköy -Ölüdeniz Lagoon Walk 7 km
Visit to Traditional Lycian Monumental Rock Tombs
After our breakfast at hotel we get on our car and drive to Fethiye downtown.Our guide informs us about the Lycian History, Fethiye and traditional Lycian rock tombs.We have a panoramic city tour then we visit one of the most famous rock tombs in the area 'King Amintas Tomb'. We listen to the details of this place from our guide and we drive to Kayaköy which is know as 'Ghost Town' today.Just before we discover this mysterious place we taste the traditionaal Turkish pancake 'Gözleme ' then we start our walking passing through abandoned Kayaköy town. After a 3 hours walk we will reach Blue Lagoon and we have free time to swim in the wonderful sea. We complete our day with this wonderful relaxation break and we drive back to our hotel.
Day 3 Ovacik - Kirme - Faralya (15km)
On the 3rd day, we will start at Ovacik and hike the Babadag Mountain. Today we will enjoy watching the sunset on the top of charming Butterfly Valley . This trail will traverse the high slopes of the Babadag, where you will enjoy breathtaking views of the Blue Lagoon while savoring the fresh air given off by the mountain’s large variety of fauna. We have our lunch in Kozağaç town visiting a local family. The trail will then take us to Faralya overlooking the sheer cliffs down to Butterfly Valley for a stunning view of the sunset.
Day 4 Faralya to Kabak Bay 14 km
On this day we start our walking from Faralya witnessing the breathtaking beauty of Butterfly Valley.We both walk and take wonderful pictures.After a 2.5 hour walk we reach our family-run restaurant to have our lunch.We enjoy the traditional meatball at lunch.After our lunch break we keep walking through Aktaş beach and we reach Kabak Bay and leave ourself into the wonderful sea.We take some relaxation time here then our shuttle takes us back to our hotel.
Day 5 Alınca -Boğaziçi -Ge Village-Xanthos 10-12 km
We check out from our hotel and drive to the start point of our walking.This area is called Alınca .We will reach 1000 mt altitude then down to 800 mt and we start our program there with wonderful views.The beautiful untouched bay we will see is called 'Cennet Bay' which means Paradise. After a 2 hours walk we reach Flat Rock which is very famous on Lycian Way.This giant stone is just next to a high cliff and its view is fantastic and t s really fun to take a picture on it.
After taking our picture on this famous stone we keep walking 1 hour more and we reach our lunch point which is a local family's house. They cook organic vegetable meals for us and these meals are really so delicious.After lunch we keep walking 1,5 hour more and we reach Ge Village and our shuttle car takes us to Xanthos ancient city.We visit this ancient city and we are transfered to our hotel in Patara.
Day 6 Delikkemer- Patara Walk 8 km Half Day Walk Half Day Beach
We have breakfast at our hotel and our shuttle bus takes us to the start point of our walk which is called Delikkemer. Its name comes from the ancient aqueducts which were built to bring water from mountain to Patara city during antique ages.
Our guide talks about the details of these aqueducts then we start walking.Our walk will be from the heart of wonderful green forest.After a 3,5 hour walk we arrive at Patara ancient city.
Saint Nicholes was born here. Saint Paul got on his ship to Rome from here.
This city was the political and religional centre of Lycian community.There are more details that our guide will tell you during our visit to Patara.Just before we start our program in Patara we go to our hotel get ready and have lunch in town centre then we visit Patara and enjoy the beach in the rest of our time which won't be less then 2 hours.
Day 7 Apollonia-Aperlai Walk - Yacht Tour (extra) -Kekova Sunken City-Simena
We check our from our hotel and our shuttle car takes us to the start point of our walk which is called Apollonia.We walk about 3 hours and we reach Aperlai ancient city. The Purple color was produced here in Anatolia for the first time.Our guide informs us about the important details of this city.After these details we walk another half an hour and we reach the bay where we meet our yacht.Our yacht tour starts from here and we will be on our yacht all afternoon.We visit the biggest island of Antalya ''Kekova '' .It is a sunken city which were destroyed after the big earthquakes during the antique ages.We visit the standing buildings of Kekova. We have swimming breaks in different bays which are like corners from paradise.We have our lunch in our yacht. Our yacht takes us to Simena ancient area which is known as Kaleköy today.We walk up to the castle and witness the fantastic view.We taste the organic home made ice creams of Simena which are made by local people living there.After our program our yacht takes us to Üçağız Harbour and we take our shuttle bus and we drive back to our hotel for our last night in our program.
Day 8 Ufakdere-Çoban Bay -Limanağzı Bay 8-9 km -Boat Transfer to Kaş
Today is the last day of our program.We check out from our hotel and drive 5 minutes to the start of our walk.We walk about 3/4 hours and we reach Limanağzı Bay which is really a fantastic bay close to Kaş town.We take a boat transfer from here to Kaş downtown and we have free time in Kaş to walk around and have lunch.After this free time we meet in our meeting point and our shuttle bus takes us back to Fethiye and Dalaman airport.
Your return flights must be later than 21.00 from Dalaman airport.
What to bring?
Hiking boots or strong shoes with good tread and ankle support, shorts and t-shirt (warm weather), fleece, waterproofs, day pack (35ltr. + -), walking trousers, long-sleeved top, sun protection-hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellant, walking poles recommended, beach towel, swim kit.
What happens to our luggage?
We have our shuttle bus during 8 days . We don't have to think about our luggages.We load them to our bus on the check out days. We leave them in our rooms other days.
What about the weather conditions?
Spring
In April, daytime temperatures reach the low twenties (centigrade). Days are mostly sunny, but there are still chances of rain. Evenings can be quite cold in early April.
In May, the temperature rises past 25 degrees centigrade, and there is less chance of rain.
Autumn
Autumn lasts from mid-September through October. The days are mostly sunny, with temperatures ranging in the mid-twenties, and the evenings warm.
Autumn days cool down later in the season.
What are the walking durations?
Walking hours vary and will include breaks and lunch stops. Distances range from 9 to 16km. On most days, there is an option for individuals to walk less distance.
ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS
Our programs are not hard level and everybody can join so long as you are healthy and not have a balance problem or physical problem.
In our programs we don't walk too fast and we don't force anybody to hurry.
We don't set camping we prefer family run pensiones and hotels, bungalows.
Our program is not a professional marathon walk or a performance show.
We prioritize having fun and enjoying our holiday in our programs.
We prefer local people to have lunch in order to eat healthy, avoid luxuory,support rural economy.
We don't change accommodation often If not needed.
